MB 917AF / 45,000 km / OM366-A, formerly a communications vehicle / camper / military vehicle. For sale is a Mercedes Benz LN2 917 AF, formerly used by the Federal Border Guard. The vehicle originally belonged to the Federal Border Guard and later to the Federal Police. Therefore, it is painted in DB6237 / RAL6012 dark green, not the mint green color seen on many others. The vehicle is equipped with all-wheel drive, a longitudinal differential lock, a rear axle differential lock, and a reduction gear. Axle ratio according to data card: 43:10. Front axle: AL3 4.7 t, rear axle: HL4 9.2 t with differential lock. Wheelbase: 3640 mm. The truck is equipped with fog lights, a tachometer, an auxiliary starting system, a driver's seat with suspension, ABS, a front coupling head, and a flagpole in the bumper. A communications vehicle body with two doors and sturdy steps is mounted, with internal dimensions of approximately 4.5 m in length, approximately 2.3 m in width, and approximately 1.9 m in height – “spring-mounted.” The body has two heat exchangers, including fans, which are controlled by the auxiliary heater and supplied by the cooling circuit, and which heat the body accordingly. There is a compartment with a pull-out drawer for an emergency generator and another compartment with a pull-out drawer for the additional body batteries. A voltage converter for connection to the power grid is also integrated (not tested). As part of the decommissioning process, the vehicle was already “civilianized” by the police. Therefore, the original equipment, such as flashing lights, etc., is no longer present. The vehicle is offered as shown in the pictures. The vehicle was continuously maintained and preserved until 2023. Therefore, the chassis and the powertrain are in excellent condition for their age. The cab has no significant signs of wear and tear, which is partly due to the low mileage. The engine, transmission, tires (year of manufacture 2021), and the overall condition are first-class for their age. The vehicle batteries are new. The body is heated via the coolant from the engine or via an auxiliary heater (Webasto DW80). The heater has a new combustion chamber and a new fan. The vehicle drives comfortably and, thanks to the installed axle ratio, is also suitable for highways.
