U 1300 (Type 435 with OM 366A turbo engine) > Based on its solid foundation and low mileage, we fully refurbished this Unimog 1300 L both technically and visually, inside and out, using various new components as well as sandblasting and painting. Prior to mounting the dropside bed, several frame parts and supports were sandblasted. The bed was completely overhauled, repainted, and the floor was fitted with new screen printing plates and sealed.
We chose the original Unimog color “sap green” and complemented it with new 1980s-style decals. Finally, we had the seat cushions and covers hand-crafted by an upholsterer. A foldable storage compartment, also covered by our upholsterer and ideally suited for use as a breakfast compartment, was installed in the center and serves as an armrest at the same time.
The last photos give a brief “before and after” insight. Many more photos are available.
The restoration required around 450 working hours so far. The investment volume is in the mid five-figure range.
