Runs and operates excellently. More reliable than any modern car.
Classic car registration with historic (H) number plate.

Both inspections were passed immediately after some minor repairs (new hoses, new gas regulator).
Many new parts have recently been installed: new brakes, new alternator, etc.
Major service early 2024, only a few kilometers ago: all oils renewed (engine, gearbox, and rear axle).
Largely rust-free, clean, and absolutely dry.
Various paint defects and minor cosmetic flaws. It's not a "Grade 1" vehicle, but realistically a "Grade 3" with excellent mechanics.

The 310 D features a super spacious EURAMOBIL body.
The vehicle has an unladen weight of 2,750 kg.
The permissible gross weight is 3,500 kg—which has remained unchanged since 1991. Thus, the 310 D can be driven immediately with a standard car (category B) driving license.
Given the very large body, driving experience with larger vehicles is definitely recommended! For a 3.5-ton vehicle, it's very sizeable. You get used to it, but I want to mention it openly and honestly.
The Mercedes is registered for 8 passengers. In addition to the two front seats, the entire seating group is fitted with lap belts, and all of these seats can be used legally while driving.
A fixed ball-head tow bar is installed, with up to 2,800 kg towing capacity.
This means that, as a historic vehicle with H registration exempt from German emission zones, 8 people can travel and a heavy 2.8-ton trailer can also be taken along.
A fold-down bicycle carrier rated for 40 kg tongue load is listed in the vehicle documents, but is not present.
Overall length with the carrier folded down would be 7.30 m.

Heating system works on diesel and gas.
The previous owner installed a sturdy 150-litre diesel tank for long trips abroad.
The engine is the legendary OM 602 five-cylinder naturally aspirated diesel with 2,874 cc and 98 hp. Naturally, it always starts immediately, runs smoothly, and still delivers its proper power.
The 4-speed automatic gearbox (classic MB torque converter type) shifts perfectly and reliably.
Maximum speed: 120 km/h.
The 310 D can keep up with current traffic when necessary. However, on inclines, it's immediately noticeable that it belongs to an older generation of vehicles—patience is required there.
All four tyres are good and will last a long time. They are winter tyres from DOT 2020 (size: 215R14C, with the alpine snowflake marking as per latest standards).
The living area is accessible from the right-hand side or from the cab. Next to the dinette is a kitchenette with stove, sink and fridge.
Main bed is across the rear. Overcab bunk also offers sleeping space, and the seating group could be converted.

There is a solar panel on the roof and an auxiliary battery beneath the passenger seat.
