BTT 131.80V hydraulically extendable delivery to the construction site by truck and instruction
The expansion of renewable energy, e.g. offshore wind farms and their connection, is leading to a massive expansion of the grid. Instead of overhead lines, high-voltage cables with large conductor cross-sections are laid in the ground. In order to lay the longest possible lengths in one piece, cable manufacturers have started to supply the cables on wide drums so that they cannot be laid using conventional cable trolleys.
The BTT 131.80 cable drum transport trailer can be hydraulically widened. Thanks to the air suspension, the trailer can be lowered sideways to adapt to inclined drums on difficult terrain.
The U-shaped design, which is open at the rear, enables the use of a modified drawbar triangle in which the hydraulic cylinders for the widening function are housed.

Widening
The overall width of the trailers when folded is 2550 mm in accordance with the German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations (StVZO). In the construction site area, the trailer can be widened to a maximum of 4000 mm. The clear loading width is thus
increased from 1690 mm to 3090 mm. (The dimensions may vary depending on the trailer type). The drum drive is split and is automatically taken along with the widening.
